During my freshman year in high school, the owner of my local comic store called me about one of the customers wanting to commission an artist. I wasn't very good back then but I was excited to take a shot at it. The guy was only a year or two older than me and had an idea for a school for elementals and maybe half a notebook full of scriptwork. Over many years we tinkered until I did more of the plotting and concept work. It went through so many drafts that we treated each draft like it's own seperate story. the comic never went anywhere and though I regret that, I've come a long way and that friendship has brought me a lot of insight. I hope to bring about this story one day. I drew this piece so illustrate all the many attempts I've made over the last 10+ years. The one atop the pile is the protagonist of my latest attempt to get this project off the ground. Wish me luck in the future.
